The Journey of 1,000 Miles Starts With One Step

At the Forge you will learn effective self-defense systems.   We teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, western boxing, kickboxing and MMA.  However, that is only a very small part of our mission.  We believe that we are defined by our small, daily actions more than our other grand ideas and perceptions of ourselves.  Under pressure we do not rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.  We are what we do ever day.  Your character is built, and revealed in your day to day action.  It is revealed in how you treat others, and how you treat yourself.  Metal is worthless until it is shaped and tempered.  At the Forge you will be physically and mentally tested, thrown into the fires to be shaped, tempered, tested and sharpened.  Your martial arts will be a vehicle for introspection and growth.  The great Aikido Master and philosopher Morihei Ueshiba said it best when he said, “The purpose of training is to tighten up the slack, toughen the body, and polish the spirit.”
